Lewes Brewcafe Haps w/c 10/2/25
Here's what's happening at the Lewes Brewcafe this week...
Big welcome Kerfuffle, our delicious DDH Juicy Pale Ale, hazy with a commotion of double dry hop goodness. Nelson Sauvin and Motueka blend into layers of tropical and blueberry from Mosaic - balanced with a light, grassy bitterness. YUMS!
Carrying on our banging low-ABV range, we've also got Cruiser Pale Ale making its debut - silky and hazy, combining Vic Secret and Talus hops to strike with a big punch of tropical fruits. Smooth and supremely satisfying.
And to finish off we've got our regular favourites ... Bongo Tropic IPA is back, alongside Wingding Extra Pale, Banger Helles Lager, and Ascension's Pilot cider.

Book Club returns tomorrow (Thursday 13th Feb), 7pm KO. Bring your current page-turner for the most relaxed book club in town, hosted by Dan. No pressure to speed read a book ready for the next meeting or flick through titles that don't float your boat. Just turn up with your own book, turn your phone off, have a leisurely read with a drink, then stop and have a chat about what you're reading ... and get great recommendations for the next title on your reading list.

Well hello again Knit Club, also on tomorrow (Thursday 13th Feb), 7pm KO (and every second Thursday of the month). This week's chat will be all about the balaclava, reinvented from fighter pilot practical to winsome Little Red Riding Hood femininity - either way, perfect for when the weather's bleak and the news is even bleaker - if not now when?!
Bring yourself, and whatever project you're working on (crochet, macrame, anything yarn related!) and cosy down in the Brewcafe for some good chats and a few drinks. Beginners welcome!

Thursday is Vinyl Night. You know the drill: you bring it, we'll play it… all your vinyls - old, new, every charity shop bargain you've got stashed away in the cupboard (especially the ones you thought were super cool back in the day). Pore over the sleeve notes and enjoy a collaborative spin over a beer or an AF or two.

Parkrun is every Saturday... If you haven’t heard about this great weekly event, here’s what it's all about: the 5k run takes place every Saturday at 9am at Malling Recreation Ground - you can walk, jog, run or spectate… whatever you feel up to. It’s free to join in, but you’ll need to register first on the parkrun website and bring a scannable copy of your barcode along. The event is organised entirely by volunteers, so if you’re interested in helping out, send them an email on mallingrec@parkrun.com ...and, JOG ON!

Meanwhile, the Lewes Beer Mile is always on, in tandem with our pals at Beak, ABYSS and Harvey's. Come on down to the BrewCafe, have a wander and enjoy a glass or two. Just grab a map (available at all the tap rooms, and the town tourist office at the top of Lewes high street), sink a bevvy and collect a stamp at each venue. When you’ve visited all four places, you'll get yourself a special LBM tote bag – great for carrying home some souvenir cans. We've also got loads of great food, wine and AFs waiting for you alongside all our top shelf brews.

Did you know there are four brilliant spaces to hire for community events and parties at the Malling Community Centre? Check them out… two great halls situated either side of the main Brewcafe area, and of course there’s the Brewcafe itself.
From sports clubs to book clubs, birthday parties to game nights, charity events to community celebrations, these amazing spaces are yours to use. Whatever your gig, there's loads of great things we can do together - with a full bar, great food options and a winning team.
Brewcafe aside, the Small Hall to the left of us offers a great space for slightly bigger gatherings. It holds up to 70 people when seated - and it's run and maintained by our partners at Lewes Town Council. (NB: this space can also be divided up into two equal parts for smaller get togethers - creating a third space to use.) Available for hire from as little as £8 per hour. You can also have access to everything the Brewcafe offers.
The Main Hall to the right of the Brewcafe is an amazing space for your big parties and events. It holds up to 120 people when seated (also run by our pals at the council). Available for hire from as little as £12 per hour. Like with the small hall, you can also have access to everything the Brewcafe offers - drinks, food, and more.

See you down there x
