Lewes Brewcafe Haps w/c 03/03/25
Here's what's happening at the Lewes Brewcafe this week...
Another first drop for the Brewcafe ... Slalom is our peak performance Mountain IPA, a full send of classic west coast hops blended with New England style and flair. Pouring with a lush sunset haze, it weaves together Centennial, Simcoe, Columbus and Amarillo for a super fresh burst of orange peel and grapefruit, plus a sprinkle of pine and dank spice, and a touch of sweetness on the finish line.
Delicious Carnival Hazy Session IPA is also back on, with its juicy, hazy commotion of double dry hop goodness, vibrant aromas of white grape and pithy lime from Nelson Sauvin and Motueka.
Alongside that we've got our regular favourites ... Wingding Extra Pale and Banger Helles Lager - hello March, we're ready for you!

Get ready for Sewcial, tomorrow night (Thursday 6th) everyone's favourite sewing get-together with our good pals at Dolly Clothing! KO is 7pm. You don't have to be an expert sewist... just bring something simple and start off easy: it could be a little piece of embroidery, a some holey socks, or a pair of ripped jeans. Perhaps you're looking for some time to make do and mend a bit more? The Sewcial is a great space for all of that - and you get to sit and chat with some lovely people.

Tomorrow (Thursday 6th March) is World Book Day and the Brewcafe is doing a second-hand BOOK GIVEAWAY in its honour - if you swing by tomorrow you'll find some children's and adult books in a box near the book shelves ... they're free to take, or you can donate to the National Literary Trust using the QR code next to the books leading to the their donation page - donate whatever you feel you can to share the joy of reading with others!

We've got a BIG DJ NIGHT coming up for you to welcome in the spring ... book your FREE tickets for a special night of 90s, Afro & Tech House with DJ Lady Hummingbird, Saturday 22nd March at the Lewes Brewcafe. She'll be spinning 7.30pm to late with a dance til you drop mix - take more chances, keep on dancin' the dances!

What, another tap takeover? So buzzed about the Only With Love TTO at The Watchmakers Arms in Hove this weekend, Thurs 6th - Sun 9th March. We've got an all-star line-up including our amazing brand new Slalom Mountain IPA PLUS a rare keg of our very special Ultra Bongo (you've got to taste it to believe it).
The Only With love team will be hanging out there on Thursday evening, come and say hi ... SEE YOU THERE!

Taking place Sat 9th - Sun 10th August at the beautifully bucolic Glynde Place near Lewes (a wonderful 16th century manor house, nestled among the rolling South Downs). Featuring a host of interstellar breweries, it'll be bigger and better than ever...

Parkrun is every Saturday... If you haven’t heard about this great weekly event, here’s what it's all about: the 5k run takes place every Saturday at 9am at Malling Recreation Ground - you can walk, jog, run or spectate… whatever you feel up to. It’s free to join in, but you’ll need to register first on the parkrun website and bring a scannable copy of your barcode along. The event is organised entirely by volunteers, so if you’re interested in helping out, send them an email on mallingrec@parkrun.com ...and, JOG ON!

Meanwhile, the Lewes Beer Mile is always on, in tandem with our pals at Beak, ABYSS and Harvey's. Come on down to the BrewCafe, have a wander and enjoy a glass or two. Just grab a map (available at all the tap rooms, and the town tourist office at the top of Lewes high street), sink a bevvy and collect a stamp at each venue. When you’ve visited all four places, you'll get yourself a special LBM tote bag – great for carrying home some souvenir cans. We've also got loads of great food, wine and AFs waiting for you alongside all our top shelf brews.

Did you know there are four brilliant spaces to hire for community events and parties at the Malling Community Centre? Check them out… two great halls situated either side of the main Brewcafe area, and of course there’s the Brewcafe itself.
From sports clubs to book clubs, birthday parties to game nights, charity events to community celebrations, these amazing spaces are yours to use. Whatever your gig, there's loads of great things we can do together - with a full bar, great food options and a winning team.
Brewcafe aside, the Small Hall to the left of us offers a great space for slightly bigger gatherings. It holds up to 70 people when seated - and it's run and maintained by our partners at Lewes Town Council. (NB: this space can also be divided up into two equal parts for smaller get togethers - creating a third space to use.) Available for hire from as little as £8 per hour. You can also have access to everything the Brewcafe offers.
The Main Hall to the right of the Brewcafe is an amazing space for your big parties and events. It holds up to 120 people when seated (also run by our pals at the council). Available for hire from as little as £12 per hour. Like with the small hall, you can also have access to everything the Brewcafe offers - drinks, food, and more.
